We are pleased to announce the recent introduction of the “Jianshun” slurry pressure balance tunnel boring machine (TBM) by CRCHI for the Shanghai Metro Airport Link project. This technologically advanced TBM represents a significant milestone in tunnel construction and offers a range of impressive features and specifications.
The project encompasses a tunnel section spanning 3013 meters, with a maximum depth of 51 meters. Meeting the stringent requirements of the project, the “Jianshun” TBM has been engineered to ensure high strength and impeccable sealing integrity. The tunnel alignment includes traversing critical structures such as the southern ramp, Shenjiahu Expressway, airport satellite hall, and S1-T4 metro section, demanding precise control over surface settlement to safeguard the surrounding infrastructure.
To address the project’s unique challenges, CRCHI’s dedicated R&D team incorporated several innovative design elements into the “Jianshun” TBM. Notably, the TBM features a high-precision pneumatic-hydraulic pressure balancing control system, an intelligent excavation management system, high-pressure main drive, shield tail sealing, and automatic measurement of shield tail gap. These advancements significantly enhance the TBM’s adaptability to varying geological conditions while ensuring safe and efficient tunnel construction.
The assembly and commissioning of the “Jianshun” TBM were meticulously planned to optimize productivity and minimize downtime. A rigorous quality control process was implemented at each stage, ensuring seamless integration and meeting the client’s highest standards.
