In a significant development for transportation infrastructure in China, the construction of the Shanwei-Shantou High-Speed Railway has commenced. This railway is an integral part of the “Coastal Passage” Ningbo-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, which forms a crucial component of the country’s “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway network. The Shanwei-Shantou High-Speed Railway, with a total length of 162.368 kilometers, will link the cities of Shantou, Jieyang, and Shanwei in Guangdong province.
CRCHI (China Railway Construction Heavy Industry) has played a vital role in the construction of this high-speed railway by supplying all the turnouts and providing fasteners and clips. Their expertise and high-quality products ensure the safety and efficiency of the railway system.
Designed to operate at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the railway will include seven strategically located stations: Shanwei, Lufeng South, Lufeng East, Huilai, Chaonan, Shantou South, and Shantou. This high-speed railway project aims to establish a seamless north-south transportation corridor, facilitating faster and more efficient travel between Guangzhou and Shantou. The travel time between these cities is expected to be reduced to approximately 1.5 hours, greatly enhancing regional connectivity.
The Shanwei-Shantou High-Speed Railway is not only set to enhance passenger transportation but also plays a vital role in regional development. By linking with the upcoming Shantou-Zhangzhou High-Speed Railway, it will establish a new transportation artery connecting the Pearl River Delta, the western coastal areas, and the Yangtze River Delta.
